Plan your visit

Ellis Marsalis Center for Music opened in 2012 as the heart of the Musicians’ Village in New Orleans. The center’s 17,000-square-foot facility includes a 170-seat performance space with lighting and sound technology, plus a recording studio, computer lab, listening library, dance studio, and classrooms for individual and group instruction. The operator describes the surrounding village as affordable housing established with New Orleans Habitat for Humanity to help local musicians live there and continue their work, so this page provides community context rather than a visitor guide.^[1]
